RICK OWENS SPRING/SUMMER 2027

RICK OWENS SPRING/SUMMER 2027 COLLECTION

On October 1st, Rick Owens debuted his Spring/Summer 2027 collection. An intentional guest list gathered at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, France, to experience Owens' interpretation of elegant stoicism in the collection, "Stone."

This collection was a testament to stepping outside one's comfort zone and applying a softer, more feminine lens to past seasons. The house has experimented with industrial materials found in shipping crates, Southern-Italian lamb leather, and GRS-certified nylon tulle to create intricate fabrics for "Stone".

Gowns, tunics, and outerwear are born from pure silk duchesse crafted in Como, Italy, and sulfur-dyed denim woven in Kojima, Okayama, Japan. Tensegrity is a key design concept found throughout the garments. Created by 1960s architect Buckminster Fuller, tensegrity is a portmanteau of "tension" and "integrity". Through this concept, stability is achieved when individual components are balanced through tension and compression. These avant-garde looks create geometric shapes around the body that symbolize artistic equilibrium.
