ANN DEMEULEMEESTER

Founded in 1985 by the Belgian fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester, one of the influential Antwerp Six, she was known for her darkly romantic, deconstructed aesthetic. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, the label gained international recognition for its intellectual approach to design, attracting a cult following among artists, musicians, and fashion insiders who appreciated its androgynous aesthetic and masterful construction. In 2013 Ann Demeulemeester stepped back from the brand, and is currently under the creative direction of Stefano Gallici since 2023.
