Originally launched by Issey Miyake in 1988, the technique where materials are produced from a single thread and then pleats added after sewing the clothing into shape, eventually grew to become its own brand in Spring Summer 1994. The clothes provide functionality (easy to care and store), versatility and modernity making them suitable for modern life.
