TOLU COKER

Tolu Coker is a British-Nigerian fashion designer, textile artist, and multi-disciplinary creative based in London. Born to parents of Yoruba descent, she graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2017, where her award-winning graduate collection REPLICA explored the complexities of diasporic Black identity. During her studies, she completed internships at Phoebe Philo–era Céline, JW Anderson, and Maison Margiela. After a disillusioning stint at a fast-fashion retailer in Spain following graduation, she resolved to build something from the ground up, and her brand officially launched in 2021. W Magazine The label quickly made its mark: her collections merge artisan craftsmanship with innovative technology to explore questions of hybridity and fluidity in societies and cultures, with a key focus on deconstruction and sustainability, championing ethical and inclusive ways of designing and manufacturing.
