Chitose Abe, a former pattern maker at Comme Des Garcons, founded Sacai in 1999 as a passion project after motherhood left her seeking a creative outlet. She quickly garnered acclaim for her distinctive style of hybridizing two garments that are unlike each other and her new take on classic workwear silhouettes. Throughout the years, Sacai has collaborated with several brands such as Carhartt, Vans, and Birkenstock and continues to push the boundaries with the brand's unprecedented treatment of garments.
